New Toolkit on Marketing in Schools
California Project LEAN, a long-time leader in addressing the problem of soda and junk food in schools, recently released a new resource to help stem corporate influence.
Called Captive Kids: Selling Obesity at Schools -- An Action Guide to Stop the Marketing of Unhealthy Foods and Beverages in School, the toolkit addresses marketing unhealthy foods and beverages on California school campuses.
While geared toward California health advocates, this toolkit may also be useful to other health advocates. It includes information on:
- key steps to develop policy that addresses marketing at schools;
- answers to legal questions; and
- talking points, case studies, fact sheets, additional resources, and more.
You can download the kit for free or purchase it for $15 at www.CaliforniaProjectLEAN.org.
