For Friends of Common Sense

It's pretty simple. Without you, we wouldn’t exist.

In a very short period of time, you have made us the number one independent source of top-quality information, as well as a widely respected non-partisan voice for families when it comes to improving their kids' media lives.

We're happy to continue offering you and millions of other users our resources and information completely free. Enjoy. But please remember, we operate as a non-profit organization funded by friends and users. And an organization and Web site like Common Sense does take money -- and lots of it -- to give you the most trustworthy reviews and helpful resources.

Our mission goes beyond our ratings and reviews and our public leadership efforts in Washington, D.C., and elsewhere. We take Common Sense to communities all across the country, working with schools and youth organizations that can’t afford to create media-literacy programs for the neediest kids and families.

So we're asking you to help us continue our important work for kids by making a special holiday gift so we can continue to serve you and the rest of the families across the United States. Here is why a little goes such a long way at Common Sense:

  • $1,000 provides 20 schools or child care centers with comprehensive media education tools

  • $500 offers a detailed media literacy workshop to a parent or community group

  • $250 brings Internet Safety guides to an inner city school

  • $100 underwrites a weekly edition of our newsletter

  • $50 pays for a family movie review by a child development expert

  • $25 brings tips on healthy media habits to a local community center

For all this support and for the incredibly kind words we receive from you -- our members and users -- every day, we truly thank you.

We wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and a great start to 2007.
