Anorexia Kills Model

This week, Ana Carolina Reston, a 21-year-old Brazilian model, died from an infection caused by anorexia nervosa. At the time of her death, the 5-foot-8-inch model weighed just 88 pounds.
By coincidence, she died the same day that HBO aired its documentary THIN, which follows the lives of four women in an eating disorder clinic.
Parents, are you getting the idea that eating disorders are something that you need to be on the watch for -- and talk about with your kids? Good. Here are some Common Sense resources for you:

This is a nice list of resources. In my own family, we asked all the grandparents not to talk about weight/ diets in front of my daughter. I've heard of other families where the men aren't allowed to comment on their daughter's appearances.
