Don't Model Yourself After Models
For the first time in history, a fashion show has banned skinny models! Wow, how cool is that! The Pasarela Cibeles, Spain’s most important fashion event, which is in Madrid and starts this week, decided that it is more important for models to promote a healthy body image than for them to be super skinny. All I can say is: Go Spain!
The Spanish government realizes that while it is important for girls not to be overweight, the opposite -- being super skinny, like runway models usually are, is dangerously unhealthy. And when girls watch those models show off clothes, it sets a bad example and also makes girls frustrated. Some girls even try to get that skinny and develop eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia.
I hope that the Milan, New York, Paris and other fashion shows follow Madrid’s really great example. In fact, I wish that all the TV shows, movies and clothing companies would also support Spain's decision. Let’s all support a healthy body and lets support Spain!

Thats a great move on Spain's part. Skinny does not necessarily indicate that the human body is healthy in that state.
