On-Demand Media Use Growing Fast

Americans increasingly know what media they want -- and want what they want, when they want it -- suggests a study released yesterday.
An investigation into the use of "on-demand" media, such as video on-demand services, portable audio players and digital video recorders like Tivo, found that the technology is more than a passing fad. The results of the study, which was conducted by Arbitron/Edison Media Research, show that the percent of Americans who are "heavy users" of on-demand increased from 11 percent in January 2005 to 21 percent in January 2006.
